Job summary

Zambrero in Sydney's Surry Hills is seeking an experienced assistant restaurant manager to lead daily operations, develop a positive team culture and deliver excellent customer service. You will oversee hiring, training, rostering, performance reviews, and staff relations, while ensuring food quality, stock control, and smooth administrative tasks.

This role offers growth into leadership as the brand expands.

Qualifications

• Previous assistant restaurant management experience required.
• Strong leadership and people skills.
• Passionate about delivering great customer service and creating a positive culture.

Responsibilities

• Leading the restaurant team in efficient day to day operations.
• Assisting in managing your team, including hiring, training, performance reviews, rostering, and resolving employee issues.
• Ensuring food is prepared, presented, and served to the highest standard.
• Assisting with stock ordering from various suppliers.
• Office administration duties including paperwork, banking, cash handling, payroll and policy reviews.
• Managing daily and weekly cleaning of production areas, dining room and restaurant.
• Ensuring Workplace Health and Safety standards are followed and staff trained.

What You’ll Do

• Leading the restaurant team in efficient day to day operations
• Assisting in managing your team, including hiring, training, performance reviews, rostering, and resolving any employee issues including grievances
• Ensuring food is prepared, presented, and served to the highest standard
• Assisting with ordering of stock from various suppliers
• Assisting with office administration duties such as paperwork, banking, cash handling, payroll and reviewing policies
• Managing daily and weekly cleaning of the production areas, dining room and general restaurant
• Ensuring safety and security standards are recognised and upheld, and that employees are effectively trained in Workplace Health and Safety
