Job summary

Merivale's Allawah Hotel in Sydney is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to lead daily guest experiences with a warm, casual touch and professional execution. You will work with a dedicated team of hospitality professionals and engage with the local community to uphold Merivale's standards.

You will guide a diverse team, drive guest satisfaction, and contribute to revenue initiatives while ensuring a respectful, educational, and results-driven work environment.

• Lead & Coach a diverse team of people, ensuring team culture is guest focused, community led, and sales driven.
• Drive the financial results of the department, be sales focused, create and lead revenue initiatives, and manage financial controls.

Occupying a prominent corner on lively Railway Parade, this pub has been a local favourite since it first opened in 1928. We know what this landmark means to this community.

The Allawah Hotel is a classic example of interwar architecture with soaring arches and a massive terrace, we are known for our quality food and our excellent guest experience.

The Role

This is the perfect opportunity for a up and coming Assistant Operations Manager to learn from a team of passionate hospitality professionals as well as be a part of one of Merivale favourite locations. We are looking for someone who is committed to imbedding themselves in the team and venue, connecting authentically with the community.

In a nutshell, you will need to:

• Understand how to deliver exemplary guest experience. This incredible venue will feel warm and welcoming with a casual tone of engagement. Underpinned by knowledgeable, professional execution.
• Lead & Coach a diverse team of people. Ensuring that team culture is guest focused, community led, and sales driven.
• Competency to drive the financial results of the department. Be sales focused, create and lead the team to execute revenue initiatives. Demonstrate proven results in management of financial controls.
• Passion for product. Support the extraordinary team of chefs and guarantee you and your teams have a detailed knowledge of the product.
• Establish a healthy working environment for the team – enjoyable, educational, results focused and respectful.
