Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services is seeking an Assistant Manager Sentence Management to support the Manager and oversee unit operations, governance, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with legislation and agency directives.

You will supervise staff, assist with performance management, training, and workload analysis to ensure adequate resources and timely reporting across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising and leading a team including supporting the Manager in HR processes
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Familiarity with criminal justice legislation, policy and directives is preferable
• Governance and oversight systems experience including QA processes
• Strong written and oral communication and attention to detail for complex reports

# Assistant Manager Sentence Management**Queensland Corrective Services** (Organisation site) Sentence Management Services; Specialist Operations; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; WacolIn this role you will provide support to the Manager and contributes to the day to day operations of a unit whilst performing other sentence management functions as required. The position is responsible for quality assurance and governance oversight of tasks completed to ensure compliance with legislation, mandated timeframes, agency directives, procedures and policies for the lawful detention of prisoners, appropriate prisoner security classification and placement in accordance with their delegated authority. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of staff and will support the Manager Sentence Management in managing staff performance, training and development, as well as analysing trends and workloads to ensure adequate resource allocation within their teams.
