Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services is seeking an experienced manager to lead Sentence Management Services across locations and regional hubs. The role focuses on ensuring lawful detention procedures, accurate prisoner classification, and progression planning, supported by governance and QA processes.

You will supervise HR functions, drive staff performance and development, and analyse workloads to allocate resources efficiently within your teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and managing a team, applying HR management processes.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, escalate issues as needed.
• Experience in criminal justice environments or similar work experience enabling rapid knowledge acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and management to sentence management staff across locations and regional hubs.
• Ensure quality assurance and governance oversight of all tasks related to lawful detention, prisoner classification, and progression.
• Manage the work unit's HR functions, including performance, training, and development; analyse trends and workloads for resource allocation.
