Job summary

North Lakes Tavern, part of ALH Hotels, seeks an Assistant Manager to lead daily floor operations across busy bistro and sports bar contexts. This hands-on role focuses on team development, service excellence, and a strong floor presence while delivering a great guest experience.

You’ll work closely with the Publican, supervise a dedicated floor crew, and ensure safe, efficient daily operations. RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence are required to meet state rules.

Are you a hospitality supervisor or manager who loves the energy of busy bistro service, vibrant bar crowds, and true team culture, without the late nights or gaming room responsibilities? The North Lakes Tavern is looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager to lead daily floor operations across our high-volume food and beverage departments!

This role is ideal for a hospitality manager who loves floor presence and team development. You’ll lead a dedicated floor crew across a fast-moving bistro and active sports bar environment while enjoying an exceptional lifestyle balance, our venue trade wraps up early with our latest close at 11:00pm!

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
