Job summary

ALH Hotels’ Marine Hotel is seeking an hands-on Assistant Manager to lead late-Trade shifts, focus on bar trade, and support gaming and motel operations. You’ll be the floor owner during busy afternoons and closing times, ensuring safe, vibrant, compliant service.

Ideal candidates bring bar/bistro or gaming room experience, strong people skills, and a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Inherently hands-on role requiring manual handling and lifting during shifts.
• Experience in bar, bistro or gaming room environments is preferred.
• Ability to supervise and lead a small team and maintain a positive, safe guest experience.
• RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Get to know locals and build rapport with patrons and staff.

Assistant Manager | Marine Hotel

Are you a hands-on hospitality supervisor or manager who thrives during peak evening shifts and late-night trade? The Marine Hotel is looking for a driven, floor-owning Assistant Manager to join our venue leadership team and take charge of our high-energy afternoon and closing shifts. This role is centered on late-trade execution and floor control. With our bistro managed by an expert external restaurant partner, your core focus will be driving bar trade, supporting our seven motel rooms, managing floor energy during late-night hours, supporting our gaming lounge, and executing airtight closing procedures (12:00am Sun–Thu / 2:00am Fri–Sat). We need a confident leader who loves being right in the action, maintaining a safe, vibrant atmosphere, and ensuring absolute compliance on every shift.

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
