Job summary

ALH Hotels’ Racehorse Hotel in Ipswich, Queensland, is seeking an Assistant Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced pub environment. This hands‑on leader will guide a busy front and gaming floor, delivering exceptional service while keeping spirits high.

You’ll work with fellow venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor hospitality teams, and coordinate cross‑departmental operations to wow regulars and community patrons. RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence are required.

• Hands-on management experience in a pub/hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership and team mentoring abilities.
• Experience supervising diverse hospitality teams and operations.
• RSA/RSG certification and regulatory licensing required.

Assistant Manager | Racehorse Hotel
If you are a hands-on manager who thrives in the center of a high-volume, high-energy pub, the Racehorse Hotel offers a dynamic, fast-paced stage for your leadership skills. From busy weekend bistro trade and electric game-day crowds in the sports bar to high-touch service in our gaming room, no two days here are ever the same.
You won't be working in isolation, our management structure relies on a collaborative group of Assistant Managers working together on the floor. You’ll partner directly with fellow venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor our energetic hospitality crew, coordinate cross-departmental operations, and deliver an outstanding experience for our regular locals and community.

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 Super + Half yearly bonus

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift
  

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
  

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
