Job summary

Queens Beach Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to lead busy service periods and mentor a dynamic hospitality crew on the oceanfront. You will partner with venue leaders to run peak shifts, ensure safe, high‑energy operations, and deliver an outstanding experience for locals and visitors.

This hands‑on role involves lifting and stock movement; RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence are required by state rules. Grow your career within ALH Hotels and Endeavour Group network.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role with physical tasks (lifting, moving stock, deliveries).
• Experience in bar, bistro, or gaming room with supervision exposure.

Responsibilities

• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly and with a great vibe.
• Lead peak shifts, mentor the hospitality team, and coordinate cross‑department operations.
• Deliver outstanding service to locals and visiting holidaymakers.
• Handle hiccups and maintain a positive, energetic atmosphere on shift.

Job description

If you are a hands-on manager who thrives in the center of the action, the Queens Beach Hotel offers a dynamic, oceanfront stage for your leadership skills. From busy weekend family dining and live sports trade to high-touch service in our gaming lounge, no two days here are ever the same.

You won't be working in isolation, our management structure relies on a collaborative group of Assistant Managers working together on the floor. You’ll partner directly with fellow venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor our energetic hospitality crew, coordinate cross-departmental operations, and deliver an outstanding experience for our regular locals and visiting holidaymakers.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licenceas per state requirements
