Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking an Assistant Manager for Benowa Tavern to lead a high-volume hospitality team on the floor, partnering with venue leaders to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

You will mentor staff, coordinate cross-department operations, and ensure a safe, vibrant environment during peak shifts. RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager licences are required, with hands-on duties including lifting and stock movement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring physical tasks (lifting/moving stock)
• Must hold RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence per state requirements
• Experience in bar, bistro or gaming room with supervising exposure
• Ability to lead a hospitality team and coordinate across departments

Responsibilities

Are you a hands-on manager who thrives in a buzzing, high-volume environment? The Benowa Tavern offers a picturesque and fast-paced stage for your hospitality leadership skills. From sun-drenched weekend dining on the deck and major sporting events in the bar to high-touch service in the gaming room, you’ll be leading a passionate team that keeps our local community coming back.

You won't be managing in isolation, our venue is powered by a collaborative group of Assistant Managers working together on the floor. You’ll partner directly with fellow venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor our energetic hospitality team, coordinate cross-departmental operations, and deliver an exceptional experience for our regular guests and families.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
