Job summary

ALH Hotels – South Tweed Tavern in Tweed Heads South is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily operations, deliver great hospitality, and supervise a team across dining spaces, the sports bar, and events.

You will support the Publican, require RSA/RCG as per state rules, and bring energy, leadership, and exceptional guest service to a loyal local and visiting clientele.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality management or supervisory roles.
• Current RSA certification and RCG as per state requirements.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
• Proven customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Get to know the locals and build team rapport.
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, with a great vibe.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the South Tweed Tavern buzzing and loved by the locals.

Located right on the NSW/QLD border in Tweed Heads South, the South Tweed Tavern is a warm, welcoming community favorite. We offer a dynamic work environment across our casual dining space, Bob’s Diner, a lively Sports Bar with full TAB facilities, and our dedicated function areas. We are seeking friendly, energetic hospitality professionals to deliver classic pub fare and exceptional service to our loyal locals and visitors.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and RCG as per state requirements
