Job summary

ALH Hotels’ Broadbeach Tavern is seeking an Assistant Manager to own the late-night trading window. This hands-on leadership role involves supervising a team, managing security and crowd flow, and delivering smooth venue closeouts to 5:00am.

You will work a 4-day week (7:00pm–5:00am) with 3 full days off, bringing energy, service and smiles to every shift while upholding safety, compliance and guest experience.

Qualifications

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries).
• Experience supervising or leading a team in bar, bistro or gaming environments is preferred but not mandatory.
• Laws and licensing requirements must be met (RSA/RSG, RMLV, Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements).

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front during peak evening trade and maintain floor control through the late night window.
• Direct security and crowd management and oversee late gaming and bar operations.
• Execute airtight venue closeouts to 5:00am and ensure safety and compliance.
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Be the face of the pub when the boss is away and lead a team of hospitality professionals.

Are you a hands-on hospitality supervisor or manager who thrives during peak evening and overnight shifts? The Broadbeach Tavern is looking for a driven, floor-owning Assistant Manager to join our venue leadership team and take full ownership of our late-night trading window on a unique 4-day work week (7:00pm to 5:00am)!

This role is built for a late-night specialist who loves the buzz of nocturnal Gold Coast trade, values 3 full days off every single week, and excels at maintaining total floor control through the early hours of the morning. You’ll lead from the front during peak evening trade, direct security and crowd management, oversee late gaming and bar operations, and execute airtight venue closeouts to 5:00am.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
