Job summary

Zoos SA is seeking an entry-level Grounds Maintenance Assistant to work across Monarto Safari Park and Wild Africa for up to 12 months. You will help maintain the environment for occupants and visitors, supporting the property & development team.

Key duties include grounds upkeep, outdoor tasks, litter removal, safety reporting, and basic horticulture assistance. This role requires no prior knowledge, but a passion for conservation is valued.

Qualifications

• Availability to work across a seven-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
• Hold a current South Australia driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain amenities/grounds to high standards of cleanliness.
• Perform outdoor tasks, including weeding, watering plants, and trimming/slashing bushes.
• Remove litter and debris from outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Assist the Coordinator of Horticulture and the wider team with basic horticulture duties.
