Job summary

Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Kirwan is seeking a proactive Assistant Director to lead day‑to‑day operations and mentor our Educators & Teachers at a brand‑new Kirwan centre.

You will ensure high‑quality early learning delivery, manage rosters and oversee budgeted financials while building strong relationships with families and the community. A Diploma or ACECQA‑approved degree, plus prior Assistant Director experience, is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children's Services or ACECQA‑approved Early Childhood degree.
• Experience as Assistant Director in an early childhood setting.
• Current blue card, approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications.
• Strong understanding of EYLF, NQS and QIP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to lead and mentor.

About the role

Assisting in managing day-to-day operations in accordance with legislative requirements and company policies.

Providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to our dedicated staff.

Ensuring the delivery of high-quality early learning programs by our passionate educators.

Efficiently managing staffing rosters.

Effectively handling the center's financial requirements in line with budget guidelines.

Upholding consistent high-quality standards for center presentation and work practices.

Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with children, families, educators, the local business community, and all stakeholders.

Actively participating in attracting, converting, and retaining families through effective management of tours, enrolments, and orientation in collaboration with our Enrolments Team.

About you

Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or an Early Childhood Degree approved by ACECQA.

Must have experience as an Assistant Director in an early childhood setting.

Maintain current blue card, approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis, and asthma qualifications.

Exhibit an extensive understanding of the Early Years Learning Development Framework, National Quality Standards (NQS), and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Showcase the ability to lead and mentor a team of dedicated early childhood professionals.

Express willingness to facilitate and coordinate ongoing professional development training for educators.

Demonstrate the ability to incorporate critical thinking and reflective practice into daily operations.
