Job summary

Children First Early Education Townsville is seeking a passionate Assistant Director to support the Centre Director and lead our team of Educators in delivering high-quality early learning.

This predominantly off-the-floor position focuses on daily operations, staff mentoring, rostering, family tours, enrolments, and ensuring compliance with ACECQA frameworks and NQS.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children's Services or ACECQA-approved degree.
• Experience as an Assistant Director in early childhood settings.
• Current blue card and first aid/CPR/anaphylaxis/asthma qualifications.
• Knowledge of EYLF, NQS and QIP.

Responsibilities

• Assist Centre Director with day-to-day operations and legislative compliance.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to staff.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality early learning programs.
• Oversee rostering and financial requirements per budget.
• Build relationships with families, the community and stakeholders.
• Manage tours, enrolments, and orientation with Enrolments Team.

We are seeking a passionate, driven and knowledgeable Assistant Director, who has the experience and desire to lead, support and manage our team of Educators, and help with the day-to-day running of our amazing centre!

Our Assistant Director is a predominantly an off the floor position. Your focus will be to support our Centre Director on a day-to-day basis.

About the role

Assisting the Centre Director with managing day-to-day operations in accordance with legislative requirements and company policies.

Providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to our dedicated staff.

Ensuring the delivery of high-quality early learning programs by our passionate educators.

Effectively handling and managing the centre's staffing rosters and financial requirements in line with budget guidelines.

Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with children, families, educators, the local business community, and all stakeholders.

Actively participating in attracting, converting, and retaining families through effective management of tours, enrolments, and orientation in collaboration with our Enrolments Team.

About you

Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or an Early Childhood Degree approved by ACECQA.

Must have previous experience as an Assistant Director in an early childhood setting.

Current blue card, approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis, and asthma qualifications

Exhibit an extensive understanding of the Early Years Learning Development Framework, National Quality Standards (NQS), and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Showcase the ability to lead and mentor a team of dedicated early childhood professionals.

Demonstrate the ability to incorporate critical thinking and reflective practice into daily operations.
