Job summary

KDC Australian Development Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on professional to support residential development projects in Sydney's CBD. You will assist from planning through construction, coordinating architects, engineers, planners, and other consultants on live projects.

The role requires 3–5 years in property development or construction, with strong reading of drawings and NSW lifecycle knowledge. English communication must be strong; Australian education is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of property development or construction experience.
• Direct project experience with a property developer, residential builder, or integrated developer-builder.
• Practical understanding of the residential development and construction lifecycle in NSW.
• Experience coordinating consultants and working with builders on live projects.
• Exposure to development approvals, design coordination, procurement and delivery.
• Ability to read architectural, engineering and construction documentation.
• Australian education preferred with a tertiary qualification in Property Development, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
• Proficient English written and verbal communication.
• Commercially minded, organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive, hands-on and willing to take ownership of tasks and follow through.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing residential development projects from planning and development approval through design, construction and completion.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, planners, certifiers, quantity surveyors and other external consultants.
• Support project planning, programming, budgeting, cost control, risk management and regular project reporting.
• Assist with consultant and contractor procurement, fee proposals, scope reviews, appointments and contract administration.
• Monitor design development and ensure consultant deliverables are coordinated, complete and aligned with project requirements.
• Assist with DA, SSDA, CC and other authority / approval processes and maintain approval trackers and project documentation.
• Liaise with builders, contractors and consultants during construction, including attending project and site meetings.
• Review project progress, identify potential risks, delays, design issues and commercial issues, and elevate them to senior management.
• Assist with feasibility reviews, value management and opportunities to improve project outcomes.
• Build effective relationships with authorities, consultants, builders, agents and other project stakeholders.

About you

• Approximately 3-5 years of relevant property development and/or construction experience.
• Direct project experience working for a property developer, residential builder / head contractor, or an integrated developer-builder.
• Practical understanding of the residential development and construction lifecycle in NSW.
• Experience coordinating consultants and working directly with builders / contractors on live projects.
• Exposure to development approvals, design coordination, procurement and construction delivery.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, engineering and construction documentation.
• Preferably educated in Australia, with a tertiary qualification in Property Development, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Proficient or native English written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercially minded, organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive, hands-on and willing to take ownership of tasks and follow matters through to completion.
