St Bernardine's OSHC invites an Assistant Coordinator to oversee daily operations across BSC, ASC, and VAC programs, leading a team of educators and ensuring child-led, engaging experiences.

You'll collaborate with families and school staff, deliver high-quality activities, and support safe, inclusive environments while managing administrative tasks and rostering as required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Children's Services required.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR, Asthma/Anaphylaxis.
  • Completion of mandatory National Child Training (Geckko) or willingness to complete before start.
  • Knowledge of NQF, My Time Our Place, and National Law/Regulations.
  • Experience in OSHC or education and care of children.
  • Child protection training is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager with day-to-day operation of the service.
  • Assist with program planning, implementation and documentation.
  • Contribute to staff rostering, supervision and team support.
  • Complete administrative and financial tasks, including fee collection.
  • Help deliver high-quality, inclusive educational experiences.
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for all children.

Assistant Coordinator - Regents Park OSHC

St Bernardine's OSHC is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Coordinator for up to 35 hours per week to lead our welcoming service, supporting up to 165 children across Before School Care (BSC), After School Care (ASC) and Vacation Care (VAC) programs.

As the Assistant Coordinator, you will oversee the daily operations of the service, lead a dedicated team of educators, and create a safe, engaging and inclusive environment where children can learn, play and grow. You'll work closely with families, school staff and children to deliver high-quality, child-led programs that reflect children's interests, strengths and voices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Manager with the day-to-day operation of the service
  • Assist with program planning, implementation and documentation
  • Contribute to staff rostering, supervision and team support

  • Foster a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment for all children
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively within an established team to achieve the best outcomes
  • Participate in ongoing professional learning and development
  • Act as the Responsible Person when required in the coordinator's absence
Job Requirements
  • Diploma in Children's Services (or ACECQA equivalent)
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR, Asthma/Anaphylaxis
  • Current completion (or willingness to complete prior to commencement) of mandatory National Child Training (via Geckko).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place framework and National Law/Regulations
  • Experience in the education and care of children (OSHC).
  • Child protection training is a requirement for this role
  • Effective computer skills including experience with childcare management software (Xplor preferred)
  • Effective workplace communication
  • Leadership skills and the ability to lead a large team
