Job summary

Ettalong Diggers on the Central Coast is seeking an experienced Assistant Catering Manager to support the Catering Department and drive exceptional hospitality across our food and beverage operations. Work closely with the Catering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team in a busy club environment.

Key duties include rostering, maintaining service standards, handling feedback, and deputising for the Catering Manager during leaves while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Assistant Catering Manager to support the leadership of our Catering Department and help drive exceptional service delivery across our food and beverage operations.

Working closely with the Catering Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the department, developing team members, maintaining service standards, and ensuring our members and guests enjoy outstanding hospitality experiences.

About the Role

As the Assistant Catering Manager, you will:

• Support the Catering Manager in the day-to-day leadership and operation of the Catering Department.
• Lead, coach and develop team members to deliver exceptional customer service and hospitality experiences.
• Assist with rostering and daily operational planning to ensure service standards are achieved.
• Monitor service standards, presentation, cleanliness and operational compliance across the Catering Department.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring positive outcomes wherever possible.
• Support onboarding, training and development of team members.
• Act in the Catering Manager role during periods of leave or absence.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Acts (Registered Clubs Act, Liquor Act, Food Act, RSA, RCG, ARCG, Gaming Regulations) and ensure your team does too!

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous leadership experience within a Registered Club, hospitality venue, hotel or similar customer focused environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams in food and beverage operations.
• A hands-on leadership style, with the ability to train, motivate and develop team members.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good availability across 7 days a week, including all public holidays, due to the rotation of the roster and business requirements
• Current RSA and RCG qualifications for NSW, with the ability to apply them in a busy environment
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain), excellent presentation standards, and a hands-on approach
