Job summary

Lawson Elliott Recruitment is partnering with a growing property services organisation to recruit a hands-on Assistant Accountant. You will manage day-to-day accounts across offices, including trust accounting, AP/AR, and daily reconciliations, while identifying process improvements.

Experience in ERP/accounting software is preferred, with a proactive approach to ownership. WFH flexibility and onsite parking are available, with reporting to the Accountant and involvement in project work related

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Hands-on experience with trust accounting requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive with the ability to identify process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts across a portfolio of offices.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable and allocate payments.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and trust accounting tasks.
• Support month-end and reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes; take on ad hoc duties.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful business and play an important part in a hands-on Assistant Accountant role combined with process improvement and project work.

Reporting to the Accountant, you will have broad range of responsibilities including:

Manage day-to-day accounts across a portfolio of offices

Accounts payable and receivable

Allocate payments

Daily bank reconciliations

Trust accounting

Support with month end and reporting requirements

Identify opportunities to improve processes and streamline workflows

Ad hoc duties as required

Ideal candidate for this role:

4+ years’ experience in a Assistant Accountant or similar finance position

Previous experience with trust accounting and a strong understanding of trust accounting requirements

Excellent organisation and time management skills

High level of accuracy and attention

A proactive, self-motivated approach with the confidence to take ownership and identify opportunities for improvement

Previous experience using accounting systems and ERP platforms

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills will be highly regarded
