TOM in Sydney is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the finance team with accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and month-end activities. Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable, Assistant Accountant or similar finance roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Manage corporate credit card expense claims and compliance with internal policies.
  • Monitor and track key supplier expenditure and upcoming contract renewals.
  • Assist with month end accounting activities.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across the business.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects and reporting requirements.

Job description

Join a collaborative finance team in a broad Assistant Accountant position offering excellent exposure across accounts, reconciliations and month end processes. This role is suited to an early career accounting professional looking to further develop their technical accounting skills within a professional corporate environment.

Please note: This is a full time, office based position requiring attendance in the office 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

Assist with month end accounting activities

About You

Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline

1 to 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable, Assistant Accountant or similar finance roles

Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Self motivated, reliable and proactive approach to work

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
