Job summary

C3 Talent is partnering with an established Australian resources business to recruit an Assistant Accountant for a 6-month fixed-term contract, with potential to become permanent. You will join a small finance team, report to the Senior Financial Accountant, and engage in accounts payable, reconciliations, SAP Concur, and month-end tasks.

The role offers Brisbane location with some work-from-home flexibility and a path to develop your accounting career through exposure to BAS, FBT, and income

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable and reconciliations is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and support accounts payable payment runs.
• Manage corporate credit card and expense claims through SAP Concur.
• Raising purchase requisitions and supporting procurement processes.
• Preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting with month-end journals and fixed asset maintenance.
• Supporting BAS, FBT and income tax preparation.
• Working closely with the broader business to resolve invoice and finance queries.
• Providing general accounting support and assisting with ad hoc tasks across the finance team.

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an established Australian resources business to recruit an Assistant Accountant for an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent.

Working within a small finance team and reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will get involved across accounts payable, SAP Concur, procurement, reconciliations, month-end and tax support.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing supplier invoices and supporting accounts payable payment runs.

About You

We are open to different levels of experience. You may be a recent accounting graduate or have some initial experience within an accounts or finance team.

More importantly, you will bring:

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to pick up new processes quickly.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved across a broad range of tasks.
• Confidence communicating with stakeholders across the business.
• Good Excel and general systems skills.
• Previous exposure to accounts payable, reconciliations or accounting systems would be advantageous, but is not essential.
