Job summary

I-MED Radiology Network is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team in Sydney. This role offers a pathway to build a strong foundation in month-end reporting, budgeting and financial analysis within Australia's leading medical imaging provider.

You'll work closely with a hands-on Finance Manager and a collaborative team to deliver accurate financial information and support decision-making across the business.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of working experience in accounting or similar role.
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
• Progress towards CA or CPA.
• Experience in healthcare finance is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong written and spoken English, with good communication.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn and develop in a high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close activities including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports, analysis and commentary on monthly results.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Raise invoices and assist with bank reconciliations.
• Monitor financial data to ensure accuracy and internal controls.
• Partner with stakeholders across Finance and Corporate teams for support and insights.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and finance projects.
• Assist Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analysis.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or an early-career accountant who is looking to build a strong foundation in corporate finance within a large, supportive organisation.

Working closely with a hands-on Finance Manager and a collaborative finance team, you'll gain exposure to month-end reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, reconciliations and process improvement, while developing your technical and commercial accounting skills.

About the Role

As an Assistant Accountant, you'll support the delivery of accurate and timely financial information for I-MED's Corporate business unit. You'll play an important role in ensuring financial integrity, supporting business decision-making, and contributing to the ongoing success of Australia's largest diagnostic imaging network.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We're looking for someone who is motivated to learn, enjoys working with numbers, and has strong attention to detail.

• 1-2 years of working experience, either in a similar role or Big 4 Accounting firm
• A Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Progress towards CA or CPA.
• Accounting experience within a healthcare setting would be an advantage but not essential.
• Strong Communications Skills. Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A willingness to learn and develop within a high-performing finance team.
