Job summary

ARTEMUS Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant who is passionate about supporting a dynamic team in Brisbane. This role reports to the Financial Controller and handles the full accounting function for multiple entities in a busy, growth-oriented company.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, perform bank reconciliations, maintain the fixed asset register, assist with budgets and forecasts, monitor KPIs, and contribute to process improvements while developing your accounting career

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in accounting or studying towards a qualification, with at least 2 years’ experience in a commercial environment
• Previous experience with cloud-based accounting systems (MYOB Acumatica advantageous)
• Solid financial acumen and a knack for commercial accounting
• Strong analytical, technical and excel skills, with a "can do" attitude
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work autonomously in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts for multiple entities
• Bank Reconciliations for multiple entities
• Reconciliation of suspense accounts, clearing accounts, sales and banking clearing accounts
• Maintenance of fixed asset register/general ledger for multiple entities
• Assist preparation of Budgets and Forecasts
• Monitor and analyse KPIs, financials and operational data
• Assist with the completion of other ad-hoc financial duties as requested by the CFO/FC
• Understand financial and legal purpose for transactions and structures
• Make recommendations to gain efficiencies of the financial processes.
• Continuous improvement of processes and procedures where identified or as directed
• Business Activity statements - preparation & submission to ATO
• Assist with FBT reporting & collation of data for annual FBT returns
