Hussey Corp is seeking a hands-on Asset & Logistics Manager to oversee our plant and equipment across our projects and external hire. This Cairns-based role is full-time, Monday to Friday, coordinating assets, hires and utilisation for multiple sites.

You will manage asset registers, maintenance scheduling, budgets and the allocation of machinery to internal projects while ensuring safety, compliance and timely availability of equipment.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in asset, fleet, plant or logistics management.
• Strong knowledge of heavy machinery, plant operations, maintenance and compliance.

• Current driver’s licence (heavy vehicle licence highly regarded).
• Safety-focused with strong attention to detail.

We're looking for a hands-on Asset & Logistics Manager to oversee our plant and equipment across our own projects and external hire.

Hussey Corp is a Queensland-based business delivering construction, mining, labour hire and plant and equipment services across a range of sites. Our people and our fleet are central to how we deliver for our clients, and we are looking for an experienced Asset & Logistics Manager to take ownership of our assets and machinery hire operations.

About the role

This is a full-time, Cairns-based role, working Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the company's plant, machinery, vehicles and equipment. This includes overseeing the internal allocation of assets to our projects, managing the external hire of machinery to clients, and monitoring asset use to maximise utilisation, control costs and ensure equipment is safe, compliant and available when needed.

Key responsibilities

Maintain an accurate asset register covering plant, machinery, vehicles, tools and equipment, including location, condition, ownership and compliance status.

Coordinate preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs in conjunction with the workshop and external providers to minimise downtime.

Manage asset-related budgets and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs.

Manage the allocation of machinery to internal projects and sites, balancing competing priorities and project timeframes.

Oversee the external hire of company machinery to clients, including quoting, hire agreements, scheduling, on-hire and off-hire processes.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and hire companies.

Monitor asset use across internal projects and external hires, including hours, utilisation, location and condition, GPS and asset management systems.

Identify under-utilised or idle assets and recommend redeployment, hire-out or disposal.

Promote and uphold work health and safety standards in all asset and logistics activities.

About you

Proven experience in asset, fleet, plant or logistics management, ideally within construction, mining, civil or equipment hire.

Strong knowledge of heavy machinery and plant operations, maintenance and compliance requirements.

Experience managing machinery hire, including hire agreements, scheduling and client management.

A strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.

Current driver's licence (heavy vehicle licence highly regarded).

Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain, asset management, engineering or business are desirable but not essential.
