Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is seeking a Principal Asset Accountant to lead the council’s asset accounting function, ensuring asset valuation, reporting and governance across a large portfolio. You will work with senior leaders, engineers and auditors to provide expert technical advice on complex asset accounting matters and drive strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in asset accounting within a large organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills for complex accounting matters.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; CPA/CA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting, valuation and reporting of the asset portfolio.
• Oversee the integrity of the fixed asset register and support annual reporting and audits.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and guidance to the asset accounting team.
• Drive continuous improvement and collaborate with stakeholders for long-term financial sustainability.
