Job summary

Victorian Department of Energy and Climate Action seeks an Asset Accounting Manager to lead asset accounting and reporting for fixed assets, land, roads and plant/equipment. You will advise on capitalization and land transactions while supporting senior management from Melbourne CBD with hybrid work options.

The role requires strong asset accounting expertise, knowledge of accounting standards and the Financial Management Act, plus stakeholder management and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance, accounting or commerce is desirable.
• Member of CPA/CA is desirable.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and the Financial Management Act.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset accounting and asset reporting for the department.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of fixed assets including land, roads, structures and plant/equipment.
• Provide technical asset accounting advice on capitalization of costs and land transactions.
• Support asset owners and senior management; drive process improvements.
