Job summary

Wilson Transformer Company in Melbourne is hiring Assembly Operators for Day and Afternoon shifts. You’ll assemble transformer components, read drawings and follow work instructions to ensure high quality and performance.

We value mechanically minded individuals with hands-on approach. Training will be provided to learn the unique trade, with modern workshop tools and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanically minded or hands-on trade experience.
• Detail-focused with strong pride in their work.
• Able to work in a workshop/manufacturing environment.
• Reliable, proactive and eager to learn.
• Manufacturing experience would be highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Fitting and installing transformer cores, windings, insulation components, steel structures and associated hardware.
• Using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment to complete assembly work accurately.
• Reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, schematics and work instructions.
• Interpreting technical drawings and work instructions.
• Maintaining high levels of accuracy, consistency and quality.
• Working closely with production, test and engineering teams.
• Ensuring a safe, clean and organised work environment.

Assembly Operators - Day Shift & Afternoon Shift

We’re expanding our team and looking for Assembly Operators for our Day and Afternoon Shift to join our industry‑leading transformer manufacturing facility. Whether you’re someone with already strong technical skills and aptitude or someone who wants to learn a unique trade, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a stable and rewarding role.

About the Role

As an Assembly Operator, you’ll play a key role in assembling transformer components and structures in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions. Your craftsmanship directly impacts product quality, reliability and performance.

Day shift position - 6:00am to 2:30pm

Afternoon shift positions - 2.40pm to 11.00pm

What you'll be doing:

• Fitting and installing transformer cores, windings, insulation components, steel structures and associated hardware.


• Using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment to complete assembly work accurately.
