Job summary

Mygration Pty Ltd is assisting a beloved artisan bakery in Darra, QLD, to recruit a qualified Cook for a full-time role with immediate start. You will prepare, cook, and finish a variety of bakery items, ensuring quality, consistency, and food safety in a high-volume setting.

The ideal candidate has a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and at least 2 years of full-time experience in a commercial kitchen; bakery or pastry background is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or above).
• 2 years full-time Cook experience in a commercial kitchen; bakery or pastry experience advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of food safety (HACCP) and hygiene.
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
• High standard of quality, production and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure, weigh, and combine ingredients for breads, pastries, and bakery items according to exact specifications and recipes.
• Execute cooking and baking tasks including chopping, mixing, shaping doughs, and operating ovens and proofers.
• Monitor fermentation, proofing, and baking processes to ensure texture, flavour, and appearance.
• Ensure proper storage and FIFO stock rotation and packaging readiness.
