Job summary

SG Bakery BanhMi in Caboolture and Northlakes is seeking an experienced baker or pastry cook to join our small but dedicated baking team. The successful candidate will work autonomously or with the team, cover a 7-day roster including day, night and early morning shifts, manage stock and assist with new cake ranges while maintaining high food-safety standards.

AQF Certificate III/IV and at least 3 years' experience preferred; applicants from all international backgrounds with English and visa

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or IV and at least 3 years of on-the-job training.
• Experience in a fast-paced baking environment is essential.
• Applicants from all backgrounds with English proficiency and visa eligibility are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake buns, cakes, pastries, and other bakery items.
• Glaze and decorate cakes, fillings, and create new recipes.
• Co-ordinate dough handling, mixing, shaping, and proofing.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards across all stores.
• Manage stock, ordering, and prep for production runs.
• Operate bakery equipment and ensure product quality and appearance.

ARE YOU A EXPERIENCED QUALIFIED BAKER or PASTRY COOK?

If so we would like you to join our small but great baking team (6 positions open) for our 3 stores across Caboolture and Northlakes areas

Successful applicant will possess the ability to those following points:

Able to work autonomously or as part of a team

Able to work between stores

Be punctual and reliable

Sound knowledge of all aspects of food safety and hygiene

Extensive experience in a fast paced environment and a willingness in supporting other members

Be available to work a 7-day roster, day, night, early morning, or evening. Weekend and public holiday work is a must

Details of duties:

Prepares and bakes buns, cakes, biscuits and pastry goods. Able to make all special cakes event, special birthday cake as ordered or launching new recipes for new cakes

Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing

Preparing pastry fillings: cooking pie, sausage roll, pastie, making cream, icing..

Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods

Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products

Operating machines which roll and mould dough

Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients

Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times

Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits

Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment

Managing stock, ordering stock.

Details of Skills and Qualifications required

AQF Certificate III including at least 3 years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

At least three years of relevant experience. We request the picture of your cake and pastry that you have done

All international Bakers, pastry chefs with sufficient English andqualification requirements and all criteria from Australian immigration department request for working visa are able to apply for position as well
