Job description

Downer is seeking experienced Area Managers to lead road maintenance teams and deliver safe, efficient maintenance works across South Australia!

Downer's Maintenance & ITS business is proud to be expanding its footprint across South Australia, delivering vital road and asset maintenance and construction services across the Barossa, Riverland and South East Regions, covering approximately 5,600 km of sealed road network. It's an exciting time to be part of a team that's delivering these critical works across the state. We are searching for experienced Area Managers across multiple locations in Nuriootpa, Loxton, Murray Bridge and Naracoorte to provide leadership and guidance for the Maintenance Delivery Team and associated sub-contractors across this new contract. In this role you will be responsible for managing the maintenance planning, estimating, resourcing, mobilisation and administration of works along with monitoring the execution of Improvement Works, Periodic Maintenance, and Routine Maintenance activities in a cost-effective manner.

What you'll bring

• Experience: 5+ years in civil or maintenance operations, including multi-crew or area management.
• Qualifications: White Card, 'C' class license; Diploma in Civil Construction or Project Management (desirable).
• Skills: Advanced knowledge of civil maintenance, strong leadership and stakeholder engagement, financial management expertise, and proficiency in business systems.
• Competencies: Operational leader, customer-focused, quality-driven, resilient, and collaborative.
