Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Field Area Manager to join our Telecommunications team in Sydney, supporting the ARCW contract. You will lead field operations, manage crews and subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

This role offers long-term stability, career progression, and exposure to large-scale network projects across Australia, with travel to regional and remote locations and ongoing access to training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in telecommunication network reallocation.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and field crews.
• Strong understanding of Telstra networks, DBORs, DBYD plans.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence; ability to travel and work remotely when required.

About the Role

As a Field Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing field operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget while leading internal crews and subcontractors.

Additionally, you'll:

• Manage daily field operations and coordinate resources to achieve project milestones
• Lead and promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, risk assessments and compliance activities
• Monitor subcontractor and workforce performance to ensure quality, productivity and project outcomes are achieved
• Develop work schedules and allocate labour, equipment and materials effectively
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders
• Track project progress, report on site activities and manage variations and as-built documentation

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecommunication network reallocation
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and field crews within a civil construction or telecommunications environment
• Strong understanding of Telstra networks, DBORs, DBYD plans and telecommunications construction standards
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence, with the flexibility to travel and work remotely when required
