Job summary

Izzat Consulting Engineers is seeking an on-site Architectural, Building & Surveying Technician in Sydney to support construction and remedial projects. The role focuses on interpreting plans, producing detailed drawings, and coordinating with engineers, architects, surveyors and contractors.

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma level required, combined with 12 months full-time work or 3+ years relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction, forensic investigations and remedial construction industry.
• Ability to interpret and study engineering and architectural documentation.
• Experience working in the industry.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Works independently as well as in a team; excellent oral and written communication.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and BCA codes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and assist with architectural, engineering and surveying plans, specifications and project requirements to support delivery of construction and remedial works.
• Prepare detailed working drawings, plans, sketchers and technical documentation for construction, remedial and building projects.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, surveyors, contractors and managers to ensure technical standards and regulatory obligations are met.
• Provide technical support to architects, engineers, surveyors and construction managers during planning, investigation and construction phases.
• Reading, studying and interpreting engineering and architectural plans.
• Maintain quality control measures assisting with architectural planning.
• Inspect work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards.
• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors and site personnel to facilitate timely completion of works.
• Provide comprehensive reports outlining compliance to structural requirements.

Architectural, Building & Surveying Technician

Due to ongoing business growth, we urgently require an on-site full-time Architectural, Building & Surveying Technician.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and assist with architectural, engineering and surveying plans, specifications and project requirements to support the delivery of construction and remedial works.
• Prepare detailed working drawings, plans, sketchers and technical documentation for construction, remedial and building projects.
• Liaise and communicate with engineers, architects, surveyors, contractors and managers to ensure technical standards and regulatory obligations are met.
• Provide technical support to architects, engineers, surveyors and construction managers throughout the planning, investigation and construction phases of the projects.
• Reading, studying and interpreting engineering and architectural plans.
• Maintaining quality control measures assisting with architectural planning.
• Inspecting work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards
• Liaise with the drafting team, Engineers and clients.
• Working across architectural, structural, remedial and construction projects with a strong focus on compliance and documentation client outcomes.
• Monitor remedial and construction activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, reports and project requirements.
• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors and other site personnel to facilitate the timely completion of remedial and construction works.
• Provide comprehensive reports outlining compliance to structural requirements.
• Reporting to management team
• Co-ordinate and organize daily work and provide guidance and supervision to the team
• Review construction progress and identify discrepancies between site conditions, drawings and project specifications, escalating technical issues where required.

Skill Level and Experience Required

• Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Associate Degree, Advanced diploma or Diploma level is required combined with 12 months fulltime work or
• Alternatively, at least three years of relevant full-time work experience is highly relevant and may substitute the formal Qualification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction, forensic investigations and remedial construction Industry.
• Ability to interpret and study engineering and architectural documentation.
• Experience working in the industry.
• Strong time management skills and communication skills
• Works independently as well as in a team. Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
• Highly level of professionalism motivated, attention to detail and committed to compliance, safety and ethical standards
