Job summary

Treespec is seeking an experienced and qualified Climbing Arborist to carry out high-quality pruning and tree removal work. You’ll work closely with the Director and crew, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Treespec OH&S procedures.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Arboriculture (or equivalent).
• Current White Card (with certificate of attainment).
• Chainsaw competencies (Fell Trees, Trim & Cut, etc.).
• Current EWP, Plant Operator, Traffic Control, CPR/FirstAid and Working with children card (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Perform all climbing, pruning and removal works safely and to a high standard.
• Lead and support ground crew to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
• Set up safe work zones, identify hazards and follow Treespec OH&S procedures.
• Use and maintain climbing gear, rigging equipment and chainsaws correctly.

Key responsibilities

Perform all climbing, pruning and removal works safely and to a high standard

Lead and support ground crew to ensure efficient and safe workflow

Set up safe work zones, identify hazards and follow Treespec OH&S procedures

Use and maintain climbing gear, rigging equipment and chainsaws correctly

Communicate clearly with the Director, crew and clients

Assist with depot and equipment maintenance as required

About you

You are a skilled and safety‑focused arborist with a solid understanding of modern tree‑work, climbing practices and industry standards. You take pride in delivering high‑quality arboricultural work and maintaining a professional approach on every site. You work well in a team, communicate clearly, and can adapt to changing site conditions while keeping safety as your top priority.

You have experience operating a range of arboricultural plant and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, excavators and elevated work platforms. You understand tree biology, pruning standards, and safe removal techniques, and you’re confident assessing tree risks and identifying appropriate work methods.

You show initiative, follow procedures, and contribute positively to a safe and productive work environment. You value reliability, respect, and professionalism, and you’re committed to ongoing learning and maintaining your industry competencies.

Qualifications and Licences

Certificate III in Arboriculture (or equivalent)

Current White Card (with certificate of attainment)

Experience

Minimum 3 Years industry experience

Experience operating an excavators, EWP's and other Arb related plant and equipment will be highly regarded
