Job summary

Your Local Tree Guy Pty Ltd in Strathpine is seeking an experienced Climbing Arborist / Team Leader /Truck Driver to join our Brisbane crew in a full-time role. This hands-on position combines advanced climbing and rigging with on-site leadership and driving trucks, chippers and tree care equipment.

You’ll lead a small crew, coordinate daily site activities and ensure safe, high-quality work. You’ll also communicate with clients and represent the business professionally.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Arboriculture or equivalent industry experience is required.
• Demonstrated climbing arborist experience is required.
• Competency in advanced climbing, rigging, pruning and tree removal.
• Current chainsaw operation qualifications are required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification and White Card are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, pruning, removals and advanced rigging operations.
• Lead a small crew on site, assign tasks and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Drive company trucks and transport equipment and materials to job sites.
• Operate chippers and tree care equipment safely and maintain equipment.
• Conduct pre-start briefings, assess site hazards and maintain safe practices.
• Complete pruning work in line with AS4373 and company standards.
• Communicate with clients, crew, and management clearly.
• Ensure sites are cleaned and left tidy after each job.

Your Local Tree Guy Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced Climbing Arborist / Team Leader / Truck Driver to join our growing Brisbane crew in a full-time role.

This is a hands‑on position combining advanced climbing and rigging, on‑site team leadership, and driving and operating trucks, chippers and tree care equipment. You’ll lead a small, skilled crew, coordinate daily site activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You’ll also communicate with clients and represent the business professionally. The role suits a reliable, motivated arborist with proven climbing experience, strong leadership skills and a current truck licence (MR or HR preferred).

Key responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, pruning, removals and advanced rigging operations.
• Lead a small crew on site, assign tasks and keep jobs running safely and efficiently.
• Drive company trucks and transport equipment and materials to and from job sites.
• Operate chippers and other tree care equipment safely.
• Assess site hazards, conduct pre‑start briefings and maintain safe work practices.
• Complete pruning work in line with Australian Standard AS4373.
• Communicate clearly with clients, crew members and management.
• Carry out routine vehicle and equipment checks and report maintenance issues.
• Ensure each site is cleaned up and left tidy at the end of the job.

About you

• Certificate III in Arboriculture or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrated experience as a climbing arborist
• Competency in advanced climbing, rigging, pruning and tree removal
• Current chainsaw operation qualifications
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Current construction White Card
• Current MR driver's licence
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a tree work crew
• Knowledge of AS4373, AS4970 and relevant arboricultural safety requirements
• Competency in aerial rescue procedures
