Job summary

RODE is offering an apprenticeship path as a Toolmaker in our Engineering Operations (Toolroom) team in Sydney, starting January 2027. The four-year program leads to a national Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, with guidance from experienced tradespeople and on-the-job and off-site study.

You will learn to interpret drawings, operate workshop machinery, and contribute to production through tooling and repairs in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Willingness and eligibility to undertake and complete a full apprenticeship.
• Ability to commence a full-time apprenticeship in January 2027.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated interest or passion for Toolmaking or mechanical trades.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and repair moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and tools used in production.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Operate and maintain workshop equipment under supervision (lathes, milling machines, grinders).
• Measure, mark out, machine, fit and assemble precision components.
• Follow safety procedures and keep a clean, organized toolroom.
