Job summary

Green by Nature in Canberra offers an apprentice Parks & Gardens role, combining on‑the‑job learning with formal study to complete a nationally recognised horticulture qualification. You’ll work outdoors on notable landscapes, including the University of Canberra, gaining practical skills and advancing toward leadership roles within the company.

No prior horticulture experience is required; a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are essential as you grow with the team.

Qualifications

• No horticulture experience required, just enthusiasm for outdoor work.
• Must be reliable, with a commitment to completing an apprenticeship.
• Willing to obtain White Card and WWVP check.
• Driver's licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with garden and landscape maintenance across large sites.
• Support turf and plant care, irrigation routines and basic landscaping tasks.
• Learn plant identification and establishment practices.
• Assist with weed, pest and disease management.
• Operate basic machinery and equipment under supervision.
• Follow safety practices and contribute to a safe work site.
