Job summary

SMART Welshpool is hiring an Apprentice Panel Beater. You’ll start as a 1st year Panel Beater Apprentice, learning with skilled tradespeople and gaining your trade qualification at our Welshpool workshop.

Permanent, Monday to Friday with guaranteed overtime. Start times include 6:00 AM or 6:30 AM, finishing around 3:30–4:00 PM. We offer career pathways, national training programs (I-CAR Gold), and a supportive, high-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in the automotive industry.

• Reliable with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Strip and prepare vehicles for repair as per Job Sheet requirements.
• Remove, repair and replace damaged panels following the repair process.
• Straighten and reshape panels using hand tools and repair equipment.
• Fit and align panels, doors, bonnets and boots.
• Prepare repaired areas for the paint process.
• Assist tradespeople with structural and major collision repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.

We’re seeking an Apprentice Panel Beater to complete our SMART team at our Welshpool workshop.

• Apprentice Panel Beater – SMART Welshpool

This position will see you commence as a 1st year Panel Beater Apprentice and work alongside our skilled tradespeople, learning a range of skills within our workshop while gaining your trade qualification.

Permanent position, Monday to Friday with guaranteed overtime. 6:00 AM or 6:30 AM until 3:30PM or 4:00PM

What You’ll Do:

• Strip and prepare vehicles for repair as per Job Sheet requirements
• Remove, repair and replace damaged panels following the repair process
• Straighten and reshape panels using hand tools and repair equipment
• Fit and align panels, doors, bonnets and boots
• Prepare repaired areas for the paint process
• Assist tradespeople with structural and major collision repairs
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
