Evolution Mining invites applications for an Apprentice - Mechanical Fitter (Fixed Plant) at Northparkes Operations. The four-year apprenticeship provides hands-on training and a Nationally Accredited Trade Certificate through a Registered Training Organisation.

You’ll learn to maintain and troubleshoot crushers, conveyors and pumps on fixed plant equipment. The roster is Monday–Friday, 9-day fortnight, and you’ll be supported to complete TAFE training while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completed or completing Year 12 with a strong interest in mechanical trades.
• Willing to learn fixed plant maintenance and safety practices.
• Possession of a current driver’s license is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with inspecting and maintaining fixed plant machinery.
• Learning to diagnose faults and performing mechanical repairs.
• Supporting preventative maintenance activities.

What’s the opportunity?

Our four-year Apprenticeship Program gives you the hands‑on training and guidance from experienced tradespeople and a Nationally Accredited Trade Certificate through a Registered Training Organisation. As part of our program, you’ll receive necessary tools, TAFE accommodation and additional support if required.

The roster is Monday – Friday, working a 9‑day fortnight

You will be responsible for supporting the reliability and safety of Northparkes’ Fixed Plant operations by learning to maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as crushers, conveyors, and pumps.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting with inspecting and maintaining fixed plant machinery
• Learning to diagnose faults and performing mechanical repairs
• Supporting preventative maintenance activities
• Maintaining workshop housekeeping and safety standards
• Attending TAFE and completing formal training requirements
• Committing to maintaining health, safety and security standards
