Job summary

Simplot Bathurst is offering a 4-year Electrical Apprenticeship for aspiring maintenance electricians. The position is based at our Bathurst facility, with base rates up to 58% higher than the applicable award and a commitment to professional development.

The successful applicant will gain hands-on experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment, with mandatory TAFE blocks and industry-standard training to achieve a nationally recognised Cert III Electrotechnology upon completion.

Qualifications

• Completed school-based electrical qualification (Cert II) or equivalent.
• Genuine interest in electrical systems, automation or industrial technology.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to learning.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to safety initiatives and maintain a 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace.
• Learn preventative maintenance and breakdown repair of electrical equipment and control systems.
• Attend mandatory TAFE training blocks during the apprenticeship.
• Develop fault-finding skills and practical electrical competencies.
• Use CMMS and work with maintenance, engineering and production teams.
• Learn about process automation and instrumentation; support continuous improvement.
