Job summary

The FutureBuild Academy is seeking an Apprentice Engagement Officer (GTO) to support MBAWA and the Academy through proactive engagement with apprentices, host employers, and industry stakeholders. Within the FutureBuild Academy team, you will focus on apprentice engagement, recruitment, stakeholder relationships, and promoting career pathways in the building and construction sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in VET, GTO, or apprenticeship system.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication and time management.
• Current driver’s licence and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with apprentices and host employers to support retention, progression, and successful outcomes.
• Recruit and screen apprentice candidates and assist with apprenticeship commencements.
• Conduct regular apprentice and employer visits and maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Provide mentoring and support to apprentices, promoting workplace readiness and career development.
• Develop relationships with schools, TAFEs, and industry stakeholders to promote construction careers and FutureBuild Academy opportunities.
• Represent MBAWA and FutureBuild Academy at career expos, industry events, and stakeholder engagements.
• Promote Workplace Health and Safety practices and escalate concerns where required.
• Work collaboratively across MBAWA teams to support workforce development initiatives and identify new host employer opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting to support compliance with GTO and organisational requirements.
