Job summary

JBS Riverina Plant is recruiting an Apprentice Electrician to join the Maintenance team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will provide support across the Plant to ensure the availability, reliability and capability of plant assets in a beef processing environment.

This is an outstanding opportunity to kick start your Apprenticeship with a global organisation at a local level close to home.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in electrical trades or similar with commitment to completing the program.
• Willingness to attend TAFE and complete required coursework.
• Ability to work autonomy and within a team in a busy plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Participating in and completing the necessary on and off the job training.
• Following safe work practices and procedures.
• Working with and under the supervision of tradespeople.
• Following all instructions from tradespeople and supervisors.
• Attending TAFE as required.

About Us

JBS Australia, part of the global JBS business, is the largest and most respected meat and food processor in Australia with a strong portfolio of leading beef, lamb, pork, salmon and value-added products. Our Northern division operates five beef processing plants across Queensland and Northern NSW, producing more than 400,000 tonnes of beef products every year.

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

The JBS Riverina Plant is currently recruiting an Apprentice Electrician to join the Maintenance team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will provide support across the Plant to ensure the availability, reliability and capability of plant assets in a beef processing environment.
