Doltone Hospitality Group is seeking an Apprentice Chef to start or develop a culinary career across our high-end venues in Sydney Town Hall, Hyde Park Sydney and Sylvania Waters. Join a talented brigade that supports you throughout your apprenticeship and gain hands-on experience with top chefs.

Contribute to events from weddings to corporate functions, while learning essential kitchen skills, hygiene standards, and recipe execution.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques; advantageous if gained through school/college or home cooking.
• Familiarity with kitchen hygiene, safety and food handling standards.
• Experience in a team‑oriented environment and ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, including chopping, peeling and portioning ingredients.
• Support senior chefs in cooking and presenting dishes for events.
• Help with plating and presentation to maintain high quality.
• Set up and maintain kitchen stations before, during and after service.
• Assist with bulk prep for large-scale events and weddings.
• Follow recipes and portioning guidelines accurately.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
• Assist with inventory checks, stock rotation, and storage of ingredients.

As Doltone Hospitality Group continues to grow, we are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chefs to join our talented brigade at Sydney Town Hall, Hyde Park Sydney and Sylvania Waters venues. This is your opportunity to join a talented brigade that will support you throughout your apprenticeship!

Your main responsibilities:

• Assist with basic food preparation, including chopping, peeling and portioning ingredients.
• Support senior chefs in cooking and assembling dishes for events.
• Help with plating and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
• Set up and maintain kitchen stations before, during and after service.
• Assist with bulk prep for large-scale events, weddings and corporate functions.
• Follow recipes, portioning and plating guidelines accurately.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Help with inventory checks, stock rotation, and storage of ingredients.

• A willingness to learn and take direction from experienced chefs.

• Flexibility to work across different areas and varied hours including weekends.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Your experience:

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques, either through school, college or home cooking is an advantage.
• Familiarity with kitchen hygiene, safety and food handling standards.
• Experience in a team-oriented environment, showing ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.
• Interest in learning and developing culinary skills in a professional setting.
• Experience handling basic kitchen tools and equipment is advantageous.
• Any participation in culinary courses, workshops or competitions is a bonus.
