Job summary

Marsh in Sydney is seeking an experienced IT application support lead to join our Applications Management Services team. This hybrid role requires three days in the office and delivers Level 1 and Level 2 support across a portfolio of business applications while guiding the team and coordinating activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate support activities, including workload allocation, cross-skilling, and mentoring.
• Maintain accurate support documentation and knowledge articles.
• Lead and participate in IT projects, system enhancements, user access management, and change management.
• Ensure adherence to IT policies, audit requirements, and best-practice processes.
• Communicate incidents and progress clearly to stakeholders.
• Provide after-hours support for business-critical systems when required.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Application Management Services team, part of our risk business at Marsh. This role will be based in Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Level 1 and Level 2 application support, helping ensure the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of key platforms used across the business. You will also provide leadership to team members, contribute to projects and change initiatives, and work closely with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to resolve issues and enhance service delivery.

We will count on you to:

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 application support for a portfolio of business applications.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex application issues in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
• Support the day-to-day operation, monitoring, maintenance, and administration of applications and services.
• Lead and coordinate support activities across the team, including workload allocation, cross-skilling, and mentoring.
• Maintain accurate support documentation and ensure knowledge articles are current and accessible.
• Lead and participate in local and global IT projects, system enhancements, user access management, and change management activities.
• Ensure adherence to IT policies, audit requirements, and support processes aligned to best practice.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding incidents, issues, and resolution progress.
• Provide support for business-critical systems outside standard business hours when required.

What you need to have:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• 5+ years’ experience in Level 1 / Level 2 application support.
• 1–2 years’ team management or team leadership experience.
• Experience in project management, user access management, and change management.
• Experience working with Oracle and MongoDB databases.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Power Query skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
