Job summary

RS Group is seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical guidance, understand customer needs, and drive business growth across the market. You will act as the technical expert supporting sales and business teams, build product knowledge, and deliver training to customers and sales personnel.

The role involves supporting product launches, developing RS Pro applications knowledge, and engaging with customers across the full sales cycle, including post-sales support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Application Engineer or similar in electronics, mechanical, industrial, or related RS industry roles.
• Demonstrated ability to provide value-added technical specification and engineering advice to customers.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively at all business levels.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical expert supporting sales and business teams
• Build and maintain product knowledge (FAQs, comparisons, alternatives)
• Deliver product and technical training to sales teams and customers
• Support new product selection and launches with Product and Supplier Managers
• Develop strong knowledge of the RS Pro product range and applications
• Provide technical advice to customers and internal sales teams
• Support sales and marketing with technical solutions and value propositions
• Identify customer projects and specification opportunities
• Support trade shows, demos, and technical marketing activities
• Engage with customers across the full sales cycle, including post-sales support
