Job summary

XPT Software Australia in Sydney seeks an API gateway expert to lead onboarding, security reviews and production deployments. You will manage API programs end-to-end, troubleshoot governance and incidents, and work with cross-functional teams on integration and gateway policy design.

Qualifications

• Onboard API endpoints including requirements gathering, testing, and production deployment.
• Security reviews and robust API security experience (OAuth2, JWT, TLS/mTLS, API keys).
• Proven production support for API gateway platforms and incident handling.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancers, SSL/TLS).
• Linux/RHEL administration in production environments.
• Expertise with Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
• Experience with Ansible and CI/CD tools (GitLab preferred).
• Familiarity with change management and release processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and manage API integrations end-to-end in production.
• Conduct security reviews and implement authentication methods (OAuth2, JWT).
• Troubleshoot onboarding issues, gateway policies, and backend integrations.
• Ensure reliable deployment pipelines via CI/CD (GitLab) and Ansible playbooks.
• Maintain network and TLS/SSL configurations supporting gateway traffic.
• Collaborate with teams and manage incidents affecting customers.

Job description

• 8+ years of API Gateway / API Management experience (Apigee preferred; similar platforms are also acceptable).
• Hands-on experience onboarding APIs, including requirements gathering, testing, security reviews, and production deployments.
• Strong API security expertise, including OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, TLS/mTLS, and certificate management.
• Proven production support experience for API Gateway platforms, including troubleshooting API onboarding issues, OAuth/JWT authentication, TLS/mTLS certificates, gateway policies, backend integrations, and customer-impacting incidents.
• Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancers, and SSL/TLS troubleshooting.
• Linux/RHEL administration experience in production environments.
• Expertise to Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
• Experience With Ansible And CI/CD Tools (GitLab Preferred).
• Familiarity with controlled change management and release processes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.
