Job summary

XPT Software in Sydney is seeking an experienced API Gateway engineer to own onboarding, security, and production support for our API platforms. You will implement OAuth2/JWT, TLS/mTLS, and certificate management, with strong focus on Apigee or equivalent platforms, and work across networking, Linux (RHEL), and containerized environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of API Gateway / API Management experience with Apigee preferred.
• Hands-on API onboarding including requirements gathering, testing, security reviews, and deployments.
• Strong API security expertise with OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, TLS/mTLS, and certificate management.
• Proven production support for API Gateway platforms, troubleshooting onboarding, OAuth/JWT, TLS/mTLS, and incidents.
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancers, SSL/TLS.
• Linux/RHEL administration in production environments.
• Expertise in Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
• Experience with Ansible and CI/CD tools (GitLab preferred).
• Familiarity with controlled change management and release processes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and configure APIs on API Gateway platforms with security best practices.
• Perform security reviews and coordinate production deployments for new APIs.
• Manage OAuth2/JWT authentication, API Keys, and TLS/mTLS certificates.
• Troubleshoot onboarding issues, gateway policies, and backend integrations.
• Respond to customer-impacting incidents and drive root-cause resolution.
• Maintain networking foundations and TLS troubleshooting across environments.
• Administer Linux/RHEL in production and monitor system health.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate status clearly.
