Job summary

CareCone Group is seeking an API Technical Lead in Sydney to own API gateway implementations, security, and production operations. The role emphasizes onboarding APIs, conducting security reviews, and ensuring reliable deployments in a containerized environment.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, manage change with governance processes, and drive conversations to improve API performance and reliability in live systems.

Qualifications

• Proven API gateway/API management experience (Apigee preferred).
• Strong API security knowledge (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, TLS/mTLS).
• Experience with onboarding APIs, requirements gathering, testing, security reviews, and deployments.
• Production support for API gateways including incident handling and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Onboard APIs: gather requirements, test, review security, deploy to production.
• Manage API security and access control (OAuth2/JWT/keys).
• Troubleshoot onboarding and authentication issues, TLS/mTLS certificates, gateway policies.

Role : API Technical Lead

Location : Sydney, Australia

Job Description

• No of years of API Gateway / API Management experience (Apigee preferred; similar platforms are also acceptable).
• Hands-on experience onboarding APIs, including requirements gathering, testing, security reviews, and production deployments.
• Strong API security expertise, including OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, TLS/mTLS, and certificate management.
• Proven production support experience for API Gateway platforms, including troubleshooting API onboarding issues, OAuth/JWT authentication, TLS/mTLS certificates, gateway policies, backend integrations, and customer-impacting incidents.
• Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancers, and SSL/TLS troubleshooting.
• Linux/RHEL administration experience in production environments.
• Exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift and containerized platforms.
• Experience with Ansible and CI/CD tools (GitLab preferred).
• Familiarity with controlled change management and release processes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.
