Job summary

XPT Software Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking an experienced API Tech Lead to design, build and scale API Gateway solutions. You will own API onboarding, security reviews and production deployments across our client projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in API management, strong networking and Linux admin skills, plus hands-on Kubernetes, Ansible, and CI/CD experience (GitLab preferred).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of API Gateway/API Management experience (Apigee preferred; similar platforms acceptable).
• Hands-on API onboarding including requirements gathering, testing, security reviews, and production deployments.
• Strong API security expertise: OAuth2, JWT, APIKeys, TLS/mTLS, certificate management.
• Production support experience for API Gateway platforms, troubleshooting onboarding issues, OAuth/JWT authentication, TLS/mTLS certificates, gateway policies, backend integrations, incidents.
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancers, SSL/TLS troubleshooting.
• Linux/RHEL administration experience in production environments.
• Expertise with Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
• Experience with Ansible and CI/CD tools (GitLab preferred).
• Familiarity with controlled change management and release processes.
