Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead payroll delivery for Australia and New Zealand EOR customers. You will own complex processing, escalations, and post-payroll resolution while ensuring compliance across PAYG, KiwiSaver, and local leave rules.

You will partner with Product and Engineering and mentor payroll specialists to strengthen controls, documentation, and scalable processes across ANZ.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Australian and New Zealand end-to-end payroll processing and complex escalations.
• Expert-level understanding of Australian and New Zealand payroll and tax compliance.
• Strong judgment across different payroll scenarios and compliance.
• Experience with EOR or multi-country payroll operations.
• Excellent communication, analytical, prioritization, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Own complex EOR payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand, including inputs, approvals, corrections, off-cycle payments, statutory outputs, post-payroll review and issue resolution.
• Act as a senior payroll tax SME for escalations including overpayments, final pay, PAYG withholding, and tax-code issues.
• Create, review, and validate pay types, inputs, and configurations to ensure correct payroll and tax treatment.
• Advise customers and internal teams on payroll requirements including superannuation and KiwiSaver deductions.
• Review, reconcile, and validate payroll outputs including payslips, deductions, and contributions.
• Strengthen payroll controls, SOPs, escalation playbooks, and knowledge resources to reduce issues and improve scalability.
