Job summary

Monks is seeking an Analytics Engineer to turn raw GA4, media and CRM data into modelled datasets in BigQuery for major APAC brands. You will join the Data team in Sydney or Melbourne (hybrid) as a full-time, permanent mid-level hire, contributing to measurement strategy, data engineering, and applied AI initiatives.

You will work with a Google Cloud stack (GA4, GTM, BigQuery, Looker Studio) and collaborate with tagging specialists to ensure data quality and actionable insights for clients.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL with window functions, CTEs, and nested queries.
• Hands-on BigQuery experience, including partitioning and cost control.
• Experience building pipelines on Google Cloud (Composer, Dataform, dbt, Cloud Run).
• Proficiency in Python for data work and automation.
• Ability to explain data to non-technical clients.
• Interest in applying AI to analytics; prior work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pipelines bringing GA4 exports, ad platform data and client CRM data into BigQuery.
• Model raw event data into clean, documented tables using SQL and dbt or Dataform.
• Orchestrate jobs with Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
• Set up data quality tests and monitoring so issues are caught before dashboards.
• GA4 and measurement: work with GA4 BigQuery export schemas and rebuild attribution where needed.
• Translate measurement plans into tables and metrics that answer them.
• Build the semantic layer behind Looker Studio and Looker dashboards so numbers match across reports.
• Present findings to client and internal stakeholders in plain language.
• AI: prepare and govern datasets for BigQuery Conversational Analytics and Gemini.
• Conceptualise and build PoC-level AI tools on client data.
