Job summary

1300 Meteor Rentals, a long-established family-owned vehicle hire company in North Queensland, is seeking a Front Counter team member at Cairns. You will be the first point of contact, delivering a warm, professional experience and ensuring smooth interactions for every customer.

This all-rounder role covers customer service and broad branch duties, with a typical Mon–Fri schedule, some weekends and public holidays. Annual salary starts at AU$65,520 with full training and uniforms provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service face-to-face, over the phone, and by email
• Build rapport with customers to make their rental experience easy and enjoyable
• Prepare rental agreements and contracts accurately
• Process payments and EFTPOS reconciliations
• Handle data entry, filing and general administration
• Conduct vehicle checks and present vehicles to standard
• Ferry vehicles for customers when required
• Support the wider team across branch operations

ABOUT THE ROLE

Based at our Cairns branch, our Front Counter team is the face of 1300 Meteor Rentals. Customer service isn't just part of this job, it's the heart of it. You'll be the first point of contact for our customers, setting the tone for every interaction and making sure their experience with us is seamless from start to finish.

This is a true Allrounder role where no two days look the same. Alongside delivering exceptional customer service, you'll support all aspects of branch operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Delivering exceptional customer service face-to-face, over the phone, and via email always with a friendly, professional approach
• Building rapport with customers and going the extra mile to make their rental experience easy and enjoyable
• Preparing rental agreements and contracts with accuracy and care
• Processing payments and EFTPOS reconciliations
• Managing data entry, filing, and general administration
• Conducting vehicle checks, cleaning, and presenting vehicles to company standard
• Ferrying vehicles for customers when required
• Supporting the broader team across all branch operations

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Full-Time

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekends: Saturday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Sunday 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (rostered on rotation)
• Selected public holidays: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (local holidays: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Annual salary from $65,520.00

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• A genuine people person with a passion for delivering great customer service
• Previous customer service experience highly regarded (but not essential we train the right person)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Sharp attention to detail and excellent time management
• The ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
• A current, valid driver's licence (essential)
• A positive attitude, reliability, and genuine team spirit
